In The Textile World

Naked Imp

Every so often I pop a naturism based article into my regular Facebook feed to see who’s reading and hopefully find a few closet naturists. It never works. I get crass, childish and sexual responses from guys and nothing at all from women.

I re-posted an article from a fellow blogger on social nudity yesterday. Only one response, which was that the writer should ‘get out more and stop writing shit columns about what you presume everyone else is thinking‘.

It’s why I keep my naturist lifestyle to myself, practicing naturists and those who have the decency to stop and try to understand. I think there is no hope for the human race and I’m happiest of all keeping it at arms length.

I actually take offense to the well written but poorly thought out post and the following blog as well as my own words will explain if you are brave enough to take a look, read and actually learn something.

To add to what I have already posted. The clothing, lack thereof or the posting of pictures is not the issue. I think the larger issue here is the fact that you and your own children can not “take captive your thoughts.” That is like telling a person who has been raped that it is their fault because they wore provocative clothing or because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. None of that is the victims fault, it is the fault of the person who allows their own thoughts to take control over their actions. Please quit teaching your children that it is the other persons fault for the actions or thoughts they themselves are having, while you’re at it learn to control your own thoughts and actions too.

” Balanced Lifestyle “

Very insightful and well written. I had to remove the thumbnail because Facebook has some draconian rules about nonsexual nude puictures and the thumbnail has a picture of a person out hiking in the nude. I bet if it contained a picture of two clothed people passionately kissing with their hands down each others clothing it would be okay. Society, facebook and Google+, you my friends are screwed in the head.

The Naked Truth.........

So far in this blog, I’ve tried at times to define why naturism or nudism isn’t such a hot topic on the list of things to shoot down as being anti-social. I’ve also tried to make it as entertaining a read as I can, covering various topics such as camping, beaches, walking, as well as detailing our trips away and our days out. As with a lot of topics that aren’t seen as mainstream in today’s world, there is always so much beseeching or persuading you have to do, before you can revolutionize people’s opinion.

Those who argue the anti-nudity stance really do have draconian views on so many other important issues too. The people who run society, the judges, the police, the politicians and the civil servants do on the whole try to influence the laws, so in general any changes mirror their own views on certain subjects…

Finding Naturist Friends – taking the proactive stance

Naked Imp

This year has been good for finding naturist friends in our own age groups. We had already met a lovely couple at our local swim last year and our friendship has thankfully endured. But thanks to Twitter, WordPress and Facebook it’s been a productive year and we’ve met a number of singles and couples in their 20s and 30s for swims, skinny dips and beach visits. It makes me excited about the future and who else we might find along the way.

But it’s taken work. People don’t just appear from nowhere and being where we are in the country, many people and locations are not within convenient traveling distances. I’ve spent hours on the internet, blogging and promoting, posting messages on Facebook, we’ve driven hours to events, put people up at our house and endured cold conditions for skinny dips. All worth it of course.

But now that it’s…
